Dr. Mario Berkowitz is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced training in sports medicine who has been practicing since 2001. After earning his medical degree in Venezuela, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, followed by fellowship training in sports medicine. He has a particular interest in sports-related injuries and trauma to the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle, as well as adult joint reconstruction, and has administered more than 300 PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections. He believes in a comprehensive approach that begins with non-operative care, guiding each patient with compassion and thorough education.
